if the gear stick feels very loose a temporary measure is to lift the ruber at the bottom of the gear lever u will seee the gear linkages. rods of wire with plastic ends. most likely one of the linkages has come off from ball like pivot push it back in and u should be able to drive home or to yr nearest garage. good luck
