At that painting, turn right and you will see a door with a star. Go through it, jump into the oily water, and you are in Hazy Maze Cave, my friend.

Go down to the end of the corridor and turn LEFT (not right; you'll end up outside the castle.) There's a green switch a ways to the left. Stomp on it and you'll be able to get metal caps from green blocks.
