These are the key indicators. I am tearing my ram down this weekend. I do not have the milky oil but have slight white smoke/ water dripping from tail pipe and loss of power. You do not want to wait until it blows! If you are doing it yourself I recommend doing both head gaskets and buying a head gasket kit so you can replace all other gaskets getting to the actual heads. There is a lot to it like stretching the new head bolts, taking heads to a machine shop and having them machined to assure they are not warped, etc. You should do or have a compression and or leak down test to pinpoint where the leakage is coming from ie
head gasket, exhaust/intake valve etc. If you have to have a shop do it, your looking at $1000 dollars labor per side. You do it, less than $150 for both sides (gasket kit). Hope this helps.
The oil pan on a Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.9L engine is removed by draining the oil, removing the retaining bolts, and lowering the pan from the vehicle. The gasket material will create a strong seal which must be broken before removal.

You pour oil in it and turn by hand before installation.
Water pump, radiator, thermostat gasket, timing cover gasket, and freeze plugs are the most common.
Well, a blown head gasket isn't cheap at all, no matter the vehicle, but in my experience around $1500
Failed water pump, hose, radiator, gasket, freeze plug,............
It can cost anywhere between about 700 dollars and about 1500 dollars to replace a blown head gasket on the 1999 Dodge Neon. This varies depending on location and condition of the vehicle.
Not normally, if it has been overheated the head may be warped/cracked.
Sounds like a blown head gasket,..
