Count your pulse right after you wake up on a morning that you didn't wake up to an alarm and before you get up. Count for 10 seconds, then multiply by 6. Athletes have lower heart rates and if you have 80-90, try exercising a bit. Heart medications can have all sorts of traumatic complications (trust me, I know), so don't try to convince your doctor that something is wrong with you unless your blood pressure is 180+ (when taken with a real blood pressure gauge in a clinic). Or of course if it's 20 or less. That means you're dying. But otherwise, trust me, you're not dying. You KNOW when you're dying from heart complications.
