A reverse cycle air conditioner work like normal air conditioners only in reverse, transferring heat into a house instead of outside of one. It is not an air conditioner at all, but a heater.
The air conditioner or heater continually runs.
the answer is air conditioner
It's obvious that you have problems with wiring. I would start from the heater/AC control panel.
Yes. Cold air generally comes out one end while hot air comes out the other. If you don't vent it, you could actually end up with a heater!

Yes, a remote control is included with the LG 7000 / 3850 BTU Air Conditioner / Heater.
It comes in through the slots in the wiper cowl on the passenger side. That is the plastic on the outside at the bottom of the windshield.
If your heater is a heat pump , then yes.
The car has a new radiator and the air conditioner was serviced last year
Yes. In most cars (especially those that have climate control) the Air Conditioner compressor will run periodically, while the heat is on, to dry the air as it comes into the cabin; this prevents the windows from fogging. The A/C Compressor will always run when you have the window defrosters on.
