In Norway we have two official norwegian writing languages; bokmål and nynorsk. Most people write bokmål, but some people write nynorsk too. The word "heim" is a nynorsk word, so its rarely used but it means home. In bokmål we call home for "hjem". Nynorsk and bokmål is similar, so one can understand each other.
