Hi.When using a DI box the guitarist is using effects that are built into the amp.how do i get those effects to come through the DI box and to the mixer and sound system or is a microphone needed?

Out of the DI box you get a clean guitar signal and no noisy effects. There only helps to set up another microphone in front of the guitar amp speaker. That is usually done. Then you have both a clean and a distorted signal for your mix. Great.
