Hi Ginnie - I am happy to assist you this afternoon. I am sorry you're experiencing difficulties with your kindle. A hard-reset might help get rid of your issues and allow your kindle to connect to your network. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds (count them) and then let the kindle completely reboot (a few minutes). From there, you will need to re-access your amazon account, but the kindle should sync with the amazon web store and download your books after a hard reset and you connect it to the internet.
