Cerro de las campanas, Queretaro - Where Maximilian I, the puppet ruler installed by French forces during the Second French Intervention in Mexico was finally executed.

Loreto and Guadalupe Forts, Puebla - Where the Cinco de Mayo or Battle of Puebla took place.

Chapultepec park and hill, Mexico City - Where one of the battles during the Mexican-American War took place; specifically the assault against a military academy where teenage cadets died defending their positions and are remembered as the Niños Heroes (boy heroes).

Plaza de la Solidaridad, Mexico City - Now a plaza, it is the place where the Hotel Regis stood up. It fell during the 1985 Mexico City earthquake, and no survivors could be found.

The Alhondiga de Granaditas, Guanajuato - It was the location of one of the first skirmishes during the Mexican War of Independence.
