The concept of robots dates back to ancient history, with early ideas appearing in myths and literature, such as the Greek myth of Talos, a giant automaton made of bronze. However, the term "robot" itself was first introduced in 1920 by Czech writer Karel Čapek in his play "R.U.R." (Rossum's Universal Robots). This work sparked modern discussions about artificial beings and automation, paving the way for contemporary robotics. The development of mechanical devices resembling robots began in the 20th century, particularly during the Industrial Revolution.
