Not sure how old this post is...
If the vehicle stutters before shutting down, then the problem exists somewhere in the gas line...
If the vehicle just shuts down without any warning, the it's probably an electrical problem.
This might be a little far-fetched, but I've known some distributors in CR-V's to have faulty seals. Oil sometimes leak into the distributor, creating a short which shuts down the vehicle without any signs or warnings.
Hope this shines a little light if th previous answer didn't help.
Jav.
If you mean 'cut off' as in the car dies while driving its probably your alternator.
sounds like a fuel pump
If it is a newer model (no distributor) then it sounds like the Ignition Control pack is bad. If it is older (with a distributor) then replace the Ignition coil inside the distributor cap.
my 98 does the same but not with a/c on. I have only found fuel filter/pump suggestion as with 96 blazer stalling while driving. Will check out and let you know.
what is a dream like stage called while driving
Because it is going into neutral. This is called "popping out of gear." It means the transmission's shot.
I seem to be driving a whole series of Fords (and I like them), but Honda builds a more reliable car.
Sounds like the TCC solenoid inside the tranny is bad Edit by Loosenut: Check your MAP sensor
It sounds like it is your coolant temp sensor.
My 1990 honda accord take off fine but act like its not getting gss after a mile or so. It stalls down. When I mash the gas it want go and cuts off
Several possibilities - from cheapest to most expensive: (1) Add a bottle of fuel injector cleaner to your gas tank for a few fill ups. (2) replace the fuel filter (3) the fuel pump may be goiong bad. Good luck.
When you are driving up a steep upgrade/mountain like I did this weekend going to Brasstown Bald Mountain, GA in a 2003 Honda Civix EX Coupe.
