June 1969, Michael Molloy, 39, an explosive expert, blew up his semi detached house in Alice Smith Square, Littlemore, Oxford, after a row with his wife. The police arrived, but were unable to calm the situation, and Molloy barricaded himself, his wife, Catherine, 40 and their 7 children in the house before setting off the homemade device. Molloy died, while his wife and two of his children were seriously injured.
