I had a similar problem on my old 90 Nissan pathfinder and it ended up been a Speedometer cable that broke.
you probably have a bad speedometer cable. usually you have to order a new one from the dealership.
If the speedometer and brake lights aren't working then you should change the fuse. If that doesn't work then check the electrical system associated with your Heritage.
