I’ve been practicing yoga for over 6 years, so I believe I can help you with this question.

I joined a yoga class for 2 months to learn the basics, then started doing all those yoga poses on my own.

Starting to learn yoga at home is actually very simple. You need a calm space, the right guidance, and a slow, steady approach.

  1. Set Up a Quiet Space

Pick a small corner at home where you won’t be disturbed. Lay down a yoga mat and keep a water bottle nearby.

  1. Begin With Breathing

Start with 5 minutes of deep, slow breathing. This relaxes your mind and prepares your body for practice. For complete beginners, diaphragmatic breathing is the easiest.

  1. Learn Basic Beginner Poses First

Don’t rush into advanced yoga. Start with simple, safe postures like:

Focus on your breath, not perfection

Finish with 2–3 minutes of Savasana (lying on your back). It helps your body absorb the benefits of the session.
