you have tranny problems. need to get it fixed. after getting it fixed or when, add a trans. cooler/radiator. This will make, if your engine over heats, your tranny didn't. there are alot of little membrains seals in a tranny. when the engine over heats, so does your tranny and these seals melt. after a few months you will need tranny repair. tell me, has your sub. over heated in the past 6 months? I have been through this already afew years back. Had my tranny repaired {$1600} put on a cooler {$39} and have had no more problems. This info. was given to me by a tranny spec., good friend. Like he told me, they won't let you know this at a shop.
If your reverse lights come on and you are not moving, get ready for possibly an expensive fix. Your tranny maybe ready for an overhaul. My reverse went without warning. I drove out of my driveway to work one day just to get there and not be able to go in to reverse. Luckily forward was fine. I took it to a transmission shop and was given the bad news. A shop will be the only one to tell you if it can be repaired to give you some time, but I'd bet it is a matter of time when other parts of the tranny go. I got 160,000 miles from the first one so I think I did ok. ==updated answer== be sure to install a external tranny cooler. heat is a major factor in how long your tranny will last and the stock tranny cooler sucks....
It's in a Failsafe mode! (electrical problem) Take it to a tranny shop tell em if they can hook it up to a computer for the tranny and hopefully they'll tell you the problem.... www.everdrive.com will tell you
NO, there may be other transmissions that will bolt to your engine but your computer MAY NOT work on the same frequency, Which will leave you with A good tranny that will not GO, or goes but will not shift, THERE ARE OTHER TRANNY's THAT WILL WORK IN YOUR CAR, BUT IT WILL BE THE SAME FROM THE DRIVERS SEAT. Your local salvage yards will be able to tell you what other models have THE SAME TRANNY as your car.,,,, Good luck, Jamison.
there is a small cable in the steering column by the shifter arm it is probably broken
when it doesnt work
You can tell the oil cooler is bad in a Cadillac CTS 2003 when oil is in the coolant and the water turns into a white muddy substance
more than likely it's a 904 model tranny, look on the tranny and it should have the #'s stamped in the side of it.
on some cars there is a automatic transmission modulator valve that tell by vacuum when to shift gears. If that valve goes bad you will get tranny fluid in your lines.
I don't know. If you would tell me who Jamie and Stevie are, perhaps I could tell you.
4l60e deep or shallow pan, or 4l80e, (depending on the bolt pattern on bottom of tranny, auto zone can tell u the bolt patterns to what tranny)
