In WWII more advanced weaponry was used consisting of rockets, missiles, guerrillas, semi-automatic weapons, and most importantly, the end of the battleship. No matter how superb the firepower, the aircraft carrier along with its planes was beginning to take the place of superb battleships like the Bismark and Yamato, both of which were sunk in the war. It was the American naval carrier task force that won the war in the Pacific.
