It is impossible to tell without knowing the denomination of the coin. There is a big difference between a Double Eagle and an Eagle or half Eagle.
You bet. A tip for youto tell difference, just note the difference on the side between that quarter & a modern one. You notice the modern one has a band of copper in it-silver one's (pre-65) lack the band.
It is quite easy, the reverse of peace dollars have an eagle sitting on a rock inscribed "PEACE", the reverse of Morgan dollars have an eagle with olive branches and arrows.

put easily on the side with the number if it has leaves then its a french franc and if not its belgian
With the exception of 1964, all Proof Kennedy half dollars will have a "S" mintmark. They also have a mirror like finish on them.
