After living in China for a long time, you might have loads of clothes, books and whatever... Trying to get away with the over priced overweight fines, you will have to send some packages back home. Why?

Sending packages is the cheapest and most convenient way to send things back. For example, sending back to Europe a package of 20kg oversea (the cheapest option) will take about 2-3 months and will cost around 400 RMB. How to do it?

First you need to buy a package in China Post (the biggest one cost around 10RMB and maximum). You pack you stuff at home, bring it to the post office, fill a form, and send it away! That easy! What else do I need to know?

Well, there are couple of tips you should read before doing that: * The package mustn't exceed 20kg. It won't help if you beg to the clerk, these are the regulations, and they will make you a hard time even if you exceed by hundred grams. But, anyway it's not a good idea to send 20kg, or even near it. The biggest packages China post provide you (around 10RMB) are not designed to carry that much! When your stuff reach its place, the package will be torn, and thing might drop out of the packag . A wise way to pack it will be 1) not to stuff it until the top and pushes the sides of the package; 2) to pack up to 17-18 kg. Tape the package well and with double layers on the bottom and on the sides to prevent your things getting to the hands of the sailors. * The packages are carried in containers on ships. Sometime people find cockroaches in their package when he opened it, and some found little bugs. Therefore it's very important to put moth balls, especially if you send clothes (this might make the package stink a bit). You can find moth balls in most of the supermarkets in China. * Wrap everything in a nylon bag before you put it inside the box. They spray the containers themselves agains insects and your stuff might stink when you get it.

* Prepare beforehand the addresses you send to and from, printed in big fonts on a paper that you will stick on the package in the post office (they ask to write it in English). In addition, considering the big difference between the countries in English and the way they sound in Chinese, it might be helpful to write the name of the country you send to in Chinese nxt to the name of the country. Could make some wheels move faster in the post service (rather than leaving the package alone for couple of days until some one succeeds to decipher which country is it). * There are some regulations for sending liquids and things like that. Sometimes they make problems with that.
