A while ago, I was leaving California Pizza Kitchen and was holding my daughter WHILE I HAD A TOOTHPICK IN MY MOUTH. Before I had a chance to react, my two and a half year old daughter smashed her head into my toothpick and was crying hysterically because the toothpick guaged her eye. The ambulance came and she spent a few days in the hospital whilte the doctors tried to repair her eye. She was in so much pain. I felt so bad for her and so stupid, for having a toothpick around her. Months later, she is permanently blind in her right eye, and they put a fake eye in her, but its obvious to everyone, her eye is fake. Now I have a contstant reminder of my own stupidity and wonder when my daughter is older, if she will ever forgive me. Tthe best thing I could do, to make myself feel better, is to reach out to other parents, and warn them to not allow toothpicks anywhere around their children!! I live with my stupidity everyday and when I look at myself in the miror, I hate myself.
