Why would the scan show bone abnormalties in prostate cancer?
Late stage prostate cancer metasticizes to the bones. This may be the reason.

If you are getting a bone scan there could be a few reasons. they could be looking for osteoarthritis, arthritis, fracture, bone cancer , or metastatic cancer.
What does metastatic disease cannot be ruled out on a bone scan mean?
It means that the cancer may have spread.

Is a bone scan better than an MRI scan?
A bone scan, or x-ray is simply a different type of scan than an MRI. No kind of scan is better than another, it simply depends what the scan is trying to ascertain.
What is a ped scan?
Do you mean PET scan? That is a scan for cancer metastases, I believe.
Does low bone desity require testing?
I would think so. I think the only accurate way for a physican to know you have low bone density is to have the testing done. This will require a scan at your local radiologists office.
