Three. Ile de la Cité of course, and upstream of it the Ile Saint-Louis; further downstream, past the Eiffel Tower, is the Ile des Cygnes. Three islands in the Seine. BUT, if you're trying to win a bet, say four islands in Paris; because there's an island in the lake at the Parc des Buttes Chaumont.
There is 3 islands in the city of Paris. The islands in Paris are called the 'île Saint-Louis' and the 'île de la Cité'; the third one is the tiny 'île aux cygnes'

Paris isn't an island, but the original site of settlement was possibly onto one of the Seine river's islands. Nowadays they are still two sizeable islands, most notably the Ile de la Cité on which you will find Notre-Dame, but they are quite small compared to the overall size of the whole city.
