I use a bleach solution about 2/3 bleach and 1/3 water and spray it on the area you want to clean. you may have to let it stand on the agitator a few minutes to remove stains and you might have to scrub with a scouring pad, wearing gloves. This will bleach your clothes so don't lean against it while cleaning and run a rinse cycle to remove any bleach inside your machine. This process also kills the germs too.
