The 2002 Chevrolet Impala Repair Manual is available for about $35.00; you will need this as I don't believe the procedure can be adequately described, and the diagrams are not legally available on the internet. However, if you can find the air conditioner's coils on your own, or in the owner's manual, there will be a valve somewhere on or adjacent to these coils where coolant can be injected.
