The Maginot Line stops at the French/Belgian border. The Nazi war machine tactic of "Blitzkreig" (Lightning War) which was rapid moving,overpowering attacks was able to sweep through Belgium and simply go around the end of the fortification. This had the French army on its' heels and they were not able to offer any successful resistance. France was defeated in a very short length of time.
