DNA: deoxyribonucleic acid

RNA: ribonucleic acid

Both DNA and RNA are polymers of nucleotides. They both contain a sugar-phosphate backbone (deoxyribose sugar in DNA, ribose sugar in RNA) and they both contain A, G, and C nitrogenous bases (additionally, T in DNA and U in RNA).
