Both the U.S. and Mexico are federal presidential republics, but Mexico has 31 independent states and one federal district while the United States has 50 states and one such federal district. Another difference would be the presidential election process: in the U.S., it is decided by the Electoral College, while in Mexico the president is elected by direct popular vote.

Besides those two differences, both governments work very much the same.

There are two kinds of markets in Mexico: supermarkets and traditional markets.

Supermarkets are the same thing and in fact some of them have the same American brands you are accustomed to, such as Walmart or Costco. Other supermarket chains found in Mexico include Comercial Mexicana, Soriana and Chedraui.

Traditional markets are housed on large warehouse-like buildings with individual stands where people sell their produce and other food staples. Usually, the market is divided in four sections for hygiene reasons: fruits and vegetables, meat and fish, food stands and miscellaneous stands, such as grocery stores and pinata stands.
