Actinomycetes are a phylum of bacteria. They include soil dwelling organisms and pathogens.
Actinomycetes are bacteria. Thus, they are prokaryotic while fungi are eukaryotic.
Fungi do not photosynthesize.
the most recognized media for isolation of actinomycetes are starch casein and oat meal
A decomposer
Fungi is part of the Eukarya domain... Having more than one cell, and having cells with a nucleus. If their size doesn't tell you how much they differ, then consider the fact that Fungi are decomposers, feeding off plant and animal life, and bacteria have uncountable ways of feeding. As an added note, Fungi are stationary. Bacteria can move around.
More than half of our antibiotics are produced by species of streptomyces, filamentous bacteria that commonly inhibit soil.
other higher fungi
Very simple...actinomycetes lies between bacteria and fungi. It was first considered to be fungi by looking the morphological features like hyphae, spore formation etc. But then when they looked into the DNA, the GC content of actinomycetes was less than that of fungi and was slightly more than that of bacteria. So actinomycetes were called as filamentous gram positive bacteria.
There is daphnia, and there is actinomycetes. There is daphnia, and there is actinomycetes. bacteria and fungi
Mycetoma (a chronic progressive subcutaneous infection caused by species of fungi (eumycetoma), or actinomycetes (actinomycetoma)) Mushrooms
The FOUR soil decomposers are.. -Bacteria -Worms -Organisms -Fungi
Fungi do not photosynthesize.
Actinomycetes are dominant in arid environments and prefer neutral to alkaline pH for their growth. Among actinomycetes most domianant genera is Streptomyces (~90%). The actinomycetes even though produce spores but are not heat resistant. These spores help in perpetuation of actinomycetes and few of the actinomycetes are known for secondary metabolite production and exopolysaccharides. Actinomycetes are known for production of siderophores, antibiotics, IAA, GA etc. They are found in the rhizosphere and few actinomycetes are endophytes tooo!!!. This traits help actinomycetes to survive in rhizopshre and hel in alleviating drought stress.
Yes, there are several published reports of actinomycetes being isolated from Antarctica
Yes, they are.
beacause the trees are wet the the .....
No sexual stage
bacteria can be like a liquidish cell but fungi can have a solid cell wall
