every animal has a gene. A gene defines the characteristics of that particular animal. today there are so many different species. we have a record which is increasing every year. The varieties of animals and plants is the result of the 3000 million years evolutionary process of nature.
God made different species or kinds. Members of the same species can generate offspring (have babies) but those from different species cannot.

There are six groups of animals. reptiles, amphipians, mammals, fish, birds and insects. reptiles are cold blooded and lay eggs. mammals are warm blooded and give birth to live young. Birds lay eggs and usually fly, fish live in the sea. insects have exoskeletons and amphibians can live in water and on land.
