Most amphibians hatch from eggs laid by female into an immature state like the tadpole that becomes the frog. Others may seemingly be "born" as in the case of the male of one species that matures the eggs in the stomach where they develop until they leave the male frogs mouth fully formed. But these too are hatched from eggs. All amphibians are hatched from eggs vs. having an umbilical cord with placenta and being "born" of its mother. Amphibians include frogs, toads, newts and salamanders. Some species are no bigger than a pencil eraser and others can be longer than a foot. Some species produce poisons in their skins.
