Millipedes and Centipedes are not the same although they apparently look similar . It is why once they were classified as a group Myriapoda. But now Myriapoda is not valid taxonomic category .Now they are separate classes of sub phylum Uniramia .

Millipedes are included in class Diplopoda , they have 4 legs in each apparent segment and areround in C.S.

Sentipedes are included in class Chilopoda , they have one pair of legs per segment and are oval in C.S.
