What is the grading of diamonds?

Diamonds are graded according to clarity, colour, cut and carat weight, basically in that order of priority.

Are diamonds octahedron?

Uncut diamonds are not any particular shape, though diamond crystals are often octahedra. Cut diamonds usually have a lot more than 8 faces. The most popular, the brilliant cut, has 57 or 58 faces.

What is the measurement of diamonds?

Diamonds are measured by:clarity -- flawless or flawed with many degrees of flawed;carat -- the weight of the stone;cut -- the excellence of faceting and the shape of the 'cut';colour -- the lack of colour or degree of colour visible in the stone.

How many diamonds have been found?

This is a question with no correct or accurate answer. Humans have been picking up diamonds since 6,000 BC (in India), and raw diamonds can be cut into many pieces, depending on the original size of the raw stone. In addition to all the mined and found stones accounted for, there are stones without record. Diamonds are also mined by criminal enterprises, where records may not be kept. Finally, cut and polished stones can be re-cut and in some records become new and additional stones. You can read more about diamonds by following the link, below.

How do you assort diamond?

Raw diamonds are probably sorted first as to colour and clarity, those being the highest-value natural characteristics. When cut and polished, the goal is to preserve as much of the stone's clarity as possible while holding up its carat weight. Often the cut of a diamond is determined by these factors. For example, this means that larger fancy coloured or 'white' diamonds can be cut in the emerald style, because of the cut's ability to show off flawless or internally flawless clarity and desirable colour.
