Many hawks are endangered because the balance in an ecosystem that they need in unbelievably delicate. One small thing like a small drought could kill off their food supply, making hawks starve and die from competition for food. Be careful in hawk territory. Majestic birds should be cautioned.

∙ 15y agoThe Red Tailed Hawk is not endangered, it is in fact very common in the US, and one of the best know Hawks because of that. But there are other species of hawk that are endangered such as the Galapagos Hawk, Hawaiian Hawk ('lo), Puerto Rican Broad-Winged Hawk, and the Puerto Rican Sharp-Shinned Hawk. There are more listed on the IUCN Red List, these are from the US Fish and Wildlife Services Endangered Species List only. For more details see sites listed below.

∙ 11y agoYes. A large amount of short, rapidly spinning windmills dotting and lining ridges all over their hunting and regular flight zone kill many of them off, they used to be a common sight.
The windmills are being replaced by taller, slower rotating mills that are causing a much lower Death Rate, but they are still in trouble.
