Manual cars are more popular in the UK and Europe than in the US, where the Automatic car is preferred. The answer to which is better is largely down to personal choice, since as years of research and progression in technology makes the Automatic car a very worthy alternative. Some people believe that the choice of when to change gear aids the driver in certain situations, such as pulling away in snow and ice and driving up or down steep hills, but if the Automatic car is a new model there should not be a problem with this. It is true to say however that an Automatic gearbox will cost more to fix than a Manual.
Yes, manual is better than automatic gears.
Manual gears are more versatile than an automatic gearbox
yes
In the past a manual transmission equipped vehicle would always get better fuel mileage. But on cars built in the last 5 years that is not always true. There are some vehicles where the A/T equipped vehicle gets as good or better fuel mileage than a manual. Especially cars equipped with a CVT automatic transmission.
it depends how you drive, if you like speed most likely a manual car is better, if you like comfort obviously a auto is better simply because theres not the slight rock from changing gears because the car does it automatically, obviously there are outliers, like (manual cars with smoother shifting capabilities, ( jeep range rover) and automatic cars that are faster ( the custom build automatic lamborghini(*rare), or the BMW which gives you the option to drive auto or manual!)

No, automatic transmissions may shift faster than a manual transmission because it takes a lot of skill to race and change gears using a manual with a clutch, however, the manual transmission allows you to decide exactly when to shift for more speed at the times you need it and for better engine performance when done by a skilled, practiced, professional racer.
Ummm yeah! They are usually cheaper than cars with an automatic transmission
I would say manual because you can regulate your RPM's to what would be best for your vehicles fuel efficency. In the past a manual transmission equipped vehicle would always get better fuel mileage. Its really based on the Driver's Preference!!!
depends; automatics are convenient and easier to drive but manual transmissions get better fuel mileage than an automatic. It depends on the way a person drives and where they drive. If you drive in backed up traffic a automatic would be better. But if you drive on open country roads with few stop signs a manual would better. If you are skilled driver a manual would be better. But if you are not a skilled driver or a new driver a automatic would better.
If by standard you mean manual (one you shift yourself), it would be automatic. It is cheper for the car manufacturer to make manual transmission than automatic. However, since automatic cars have become so prominent many manufacturers don't charge extra for an automatic transmission.
