Science is never really and truly proven, it is growing / on going theories but myths have already been proven to be incorrect/false (hence the terms myth vs. fact)
Myths maybe an ancient reasoning of the world, likened to modern science.

Without science, they relied on myths to explain how the wolrd had come about and what it was that made it work.
Different gods and different mythical creature. Also they were more disciplined and more strict.
They are generally considered to be literature or folklore.
At the time, they weren't myths, they believed it or at least I think they did. Therefore, it wasn't Science but Religon.
The early people did not have as sophisticated of science studies as we do now, so they used myths as a way to explain the world around them.
Origin myths are traditional stories that explain the creation of the world or a particular culture. They often involve supernatural beings or events, and serve to provide a sense of identity and purpose for a community. These myths can vary widely between different cultures and societies.
What is true about all origin myths is that they all are myths, they all are created to explain how something in the natural world originated when the creator of the myth did not know how something in the natural world originated, and some origin myths have been busted by modern science.
They shouldn't. There are rather rigorous methodological guidelines when arriving at an answer to explain the data you've gathered, and that is in turn ripped apart by experts in your field. Myths, on the other hand, may have their internal logic, but they don't explain things, and don't offer any understanding of processes. Myths also are untestable, which makes it not science. On a different note, it is possible however for common knowledge or folk knowledge to be confirmed by science.
