The slaves were enslaved while the others were not.
The majority of Greek males were farmers.
It is not accurate to say that one group is inherently more important than the other, as both farmers and traders play crucial roles in the economy. Farmers are responsible for producing food and raw materials, while traders facilitate the distribution and exchange of these goods. The relationship between farmers and traders is symbiotic, as farmers rely on traders to sell their products and traders rely on farmers for a consistent supply of goods. Both professions are essential for a functioning market system.

Black slavery in america was different by the 1800s. No states in the north allowed slaves by 1800s, and demanded that all black slaves should be set free. Until the 1850 to 1860, many slave owners had less than 100 slaves. In the 1700s, all states allowed slavery and white farmers treated black slaves very harsh.
European traders didn't pay for slaves with money. Instead, gunpowder, brandy, and seashells were the main currencies for slave trade.
Slave traders often viewed slaves as property rather than individuals, seen as commodities to be bought and sold for profit. They justified their actions through racist beliefs and the concept of racial superiority, enabling them to exploit and dehumanize those they enslaved.
I might be wrong about this answer because I've never heard of community traders, but I'll give it a try. (I think) community traders trade with other people to get what they want, like food, clothes or other supplies. They have things they don't need, so they trade it for things they do need. Farmers, on the other hand, grow plants and other food items. They already have the things they need - assuming that they have clothes - because they grow their food. So the main difference is this: community traders have to trade for food, but farmers grow their food. Farmers have the advantage. Hope this helps! (Sorry if I'm wrong).
