1 to 6 , front to rear
The spark plug firing order for the Ford 200 cubic inch straight 6 cylinder is :
1 - 5 - 3 - 6 - 2 - 4
The distributor rotor turns CLOCKWISE
The marked # 1 position on the distributor cap faces AWAY from the engine
The 1967 289 was rated at 200 hp
The ( 200 cubic inch ) straight 6 cylinder in a 1967 Ford Mustang is rated at ( 120 BHP )
On a 1967 Ford Mustang : * If you have the 200 cubic inch inline six cylinder engine : The spark plugs are gapped at ( .032 to .036 inch )
200 hp (150 kW) is the power of the pick-up ford f-150 1967 engine and its maximum speed is 93 mph.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I was looking at a website and it shows for the 200 cubic inch inline six cylinder engine in a Ford Mustang : 1965 / 1966 / 1967 ( 155 to 195 with a 20 PSI tolerance between engine cylinders ) 1968 ( 150 to 200 with a 20 PSI tolerance between engine cylinders ) 1970 ( lowest within 75 % of highest ) Actual compression can vary widely depending on the engine and test equipment. What you are looking for more than anything else is consistency between cylinders. A cylinder that varies greatly from the others is a sign of worn valves or rings. It is unlikely you would see 200 PSI on a compression test, especially on a later model engine with lower compression. Anything from 110-160 would be good. Much lower than that probably indicates a tired engine.
I believe that is 12 degrees BTDC for the automatic transmission and 6 degrees BTDC for the manual transmission equipped 1967 Ford Mustang 200 cubic inch straight 6 cylinder
For the 200 cubic inch straight six cylinder in a Ford Mustang : 1965 to 1967 ( .024 to .026 inch ) 1968 ( .027 inch )
.024 to .026 point gap for the 200 cubic inch straight 6 cylinder in a 1967 Ford Mustang
For the 200 cubic inch straight 6 cylinder in a 1965 Ford Mustang with 9.2 to 1 compression ratio : 155 to 195 with 20 PSI tolerance between cylinders
The ( 1968 ) Ford Mustang 200 cubic inch straight 6 cylinder spark plug gap is ( .035 inch ) I'm assuming the 1967 was the same ?
200
No , not according to my Consumer Guide book . In a 1966 Ford Mustang there was the 200 cubic inch straight 6 cylinder and 3 different horsepower versions of the 289 V8 . They list a 390 option in the 1967 Mustang
