The greenhouse effect is a natural process that keeps the Earth warm. Without it, the earth would be unable to retain enough heat to sustain life.

The enhanced greenhouse effect is caused by the all the extra greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane etc) that we put into the air from burning fossil fuels and agriculture (cattle belches). These all trap more heat and radiation from the sun than is normally required. The earth radiates infrared energy from the sunlight that reaches the surface which should escape off into space, but due to the enhanced greenhouse effect, this radiation is trapped. Therefore, the overall temperature of the globe rises.

See this link below for a diagram:
Global warming is the increase of the average temperature of the earths atmosphere due to the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is caused by high concentrations of methane, co2 and water vapour in the earth's atmosphere . These gases occur naturally (natural greenhouse effect) however due to human activity (cars, burning fossil fuels, deforestation) more of these gases are released, and this enhances the greenhouse effect (so it is called the enhanced greenhouse effect.)

Naturally occurring greenhouse gases (water vapor, carbon dioxide and methane, largely) are part of the greenhouse effect which has kept the earth warm for millions of years. They are part of the carbon and water cycles.

The gas causing the enhanced greenhouse effect is mostly carbon dioxide. By burning fossil fuel (coal, oil and natural gas) man is releasing billions of tons of extra carbon dioxide into the atmosphere (that has been hidden under the ground for 300 million years). This extra carbon dioxide is overloading the carbon cycle and causing global warming, as the carbon cycle cannot reduce the levels in the atmosphere.

The natural greenhouse effect and the enhanced greenhouse effect are similar because they are both caused by greenhouse gases which absorb heat being radiated from the earth, and prevent it being transmitted into space. The natural greenhouse effect occurs when carbon dioxide levels are in the long-term average range of 260-280 parts per million (ppm), while the enhanced greenhouse effect causes temperatures to rise when carbon dioxide levels rise beyond this level.

They are the same gases. The increased levels of carbon dioxide are what are considered as causing the enhanced greenhouse effect.

Is the enhanced greenhouse effect essential for life on earth?

The greenhouse effect is essential to life on earth. The enhanced greenhouse effect is not. In fact if it is enhanced too quickly it can be harmful to life.

What is a sentence with greenhouse effect?

The greenhouse effect is the natural way that the Earth keeps warm. Too many extra greenhouse gases turn the greenhouse effect into an enhanced greenhouse effect. The enhanced, or accelerated, greenhouse effect is causing global warming.

What is another name for enhanced greenhouse effect?

The greenhouse effect is the natural process by which greenhouse gases keep the earth's temperature at a comfortable level suitable for human existence. The enhanced greenhouse effect is the increase in greenhouse gases that is leading to global warming. The term "enhanced greenhouse effect" is also referred to as the "anthropogenic greenhouse effect" and is the idea that humans may have an effect on global climate. It is also referred to as the "runaway greenhouse effect".

Which single gas has the greatest impact globally on the enhanced greenhouse effect?

Carbon dioxide is the gas that is having the greatest impact on the enhanced greenhouse effect.

What do humans do to effect the greenhouse effect?

The greenhouse effect keeps us all warm enough for life. The enhanced greenhouse effect causes global warming.

What are 3 results of enhanced greenhouse effect?

BOOBS!

What is the link between the greenhouse effect and industrialization?

The Industrial Revolution, when we first seriously began burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), marks the beginning of the enhanced, or accelerated greenhouse effect. The normal greenhouse effect has kept the earth warm enough for life for millions of years. The enhanced greenhouse effect is causing global warming and climate change.

How does the greenhouse effect change your world?

The natural greenhouse effect keeps the earth warm enough for life. The enhanced greenhouse effect is causing global warming.

What does the greenhouse effect help do?

The normal greenhouse effect keeps the earth warm enough for life. The enhanced, or accelerated greenhouse effect, is causing global warming.

Why is photosynthesis the only process that can combat the greenhouse effect?

The greenhouse effect does not have to be combatted, as it usefully keeps the earth warm. But we have to stop the enhanced (or accelerated) greenhouse effect which is causing global warming. The only process that can combat the enhanced greenhouse effect is photosynthesis, trees and plants remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

When did the enhanced greenhouse effect occur?

When we began to seriously burn fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) we released billions of tones of EXTRA carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This changed the natural greenhouse effect to an enhanced, or accelerated greenhouse effect.

The greenhouse effect can be enhanced by your use of fossil fuels?
