By vertical lines, like meridians, but not always straight.
Time zones are marked on a time zone map using a series of vertical lines that represent the boundaries between each time zone. Each line indicates a change in time by one hour, with some lines extending out into the ocean to encompass specific regions. The time zones are typically labeled with the offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
Five time zones
There are four. It is the same number and roughly the same location as those of the contiguous United States (main, continuous states excluding Hawaii and Alaska).
Time zones are to indicate the time in that area due to the sun's position being different at every time zone on the planet
There are four time zones in the western hemisphere: Pacific Time Zone, Mountain Time Zone, Central Time Zone, and Eastern Time Zone.
Canada has six primary time zones. Beginning from the east these are: * Newfoundland * Atlantic * Eastern * Central * Mountain * Pacific You can view a rough map of these zones on the link below.
Here are the time zones from west to east or earliest to latest: 1. Hawaii- Aleutian Time Zone 2. Alaska Time Zone 3. Pacific Time Zone 4. Mountain Time Zone 5. Central Time Zone 6. Eastern Time Zone
Indiana has two time zones: Eastern Time Zone and Central Time Zone. The dividing line between the two time zones runs approximately along the western border of Indiana.
There are five time zones in Canada and three in Mexico. The three time zones in Mexico are the same as the the three in Western Canada. Most of Mexico would be in the same time zone as Winnipeg, so an hour behind Toronto and Montreal. Some of western Mexico would be the same as Calgary and way western Mexico would be the same as Vancouver.
A time zone two zones to the west would have a time of 2:15 PM. Locations to the east have later times and locations to the west have earlier times.Time ZonesThe standard time zones were set up to establish uniform regional times in the place of varying local times according to the Sun. Each time zone normally represents one hour's difference in time. They are centered in 15° increments from the Prime Meridian and have a width of 15° longitude. However, many political and commercial adjustments have been made to the actual time zone boundaries.(see related question)
Nautical time zones are each made up of 15 degrees. Terrestrial time zones, however vary from zone to zone and country to country.
