The waves are formedwhen the moon's transferredlight has pull the waves with its own gravity which form high tides
People in coastal areas should learn about tides and waves in order to predict the best times for using the beach, to prevent accidents, and to stay alert for dangers, such as storm surges

How are radio waves formed?
A coastal plain is formed when there is runoff from precipitation that flow back into the ocean and weathers and erodes the land near the coast. This usually happens on inactive plates. A lot of the East coast of the North American plate is a prime example. That is why as you get closer to the beach there is more and more sand because as you get closer to the ocean, the sediment gets smaller till it is sand.

Ocean waves and wind
Waves are formed from wind and other disturbances in far out water as they get closer to shore the have less water to move and so they are moved upward where the reach their crest and hit the shore. They can easily move sand and rock. They also make sand by crushing up seashells and other debris on the shore. Their biggest force though is erosion. Meaning they wear away at the shore.
Waves give rhythm to the ocean. They transport energy over vast distances. Where they make landfall, waves help to sculpt a unique and dynamic mosaic of coastal habitats.
I believe it is because of the uneven heating caused by the sun's radiation waves. The difference in temperatures is huge because of the heat absorbed by the water and the heat absorbed by the land in coastal areas differ greatly. This uneven temperature cause large amounts of winds.
Very dangerous - to those living in coastal areas. Some of the larger tidal waves can reach a few miles inland - swamping everything in their path.

the familiar waves we spot at the beach are often caused by wind.waves are also formed through tectonic activity.the ocean floor can cause the bottom of waves to slow down.
