What do you mean by a cap? Which cover are you talking about? While indoors, you do not wear your cover. Only time you do is if you are instructed to by a higher rank. An exception that might not be correct, is if there are others there wearing the cover, might want to wear yours also if u are the only one not, to be uniform.
