The Irish flag is green, white and orange. Many Irish people do indeed tend to refer to it as gold and this is likely to be because of ignorance as to what each of the three colours represent. Green being the Catholic tradition, Orange being the Protestant tradition and white representing peace between both communities. The Irish nationalists do seem to have a colour that looks more like gold than orange. I've seen it in photographs, maybe they deliberately mean for it to be be gold, and not out of ignorance. Look at some pictures of the flag from the North, maybe the ROI flag is more orange.
for colored pencils,i used orange and yellow.Put orange down first, then add yellow very lightly and keep adding layers onto the orange with the yellow. If the color is too light add a little more orange until you get the color you like
Mix yellow & orange jello packets together to get less of the stark yellow and more of a gold tint!
Blue is more popular! improvement/edition: I agree that blue is more popular than orange, because only a few people I know like the color orange. I honestly don't like orange as much as blue, but I don't like blue to much, either!
The Griffins I draw ussually have gold, light brown, and yellow/orange with the traditional lion color. The gold ussually makes it stand out more.

Walnut and Oak are both hardwoods and therefore are both great choices for flooring material. Walnut will be a little bit more expensive due to it's desirability.
