It is believed that Yellowstones magma chamber is at least 2500 KM2. This is based on both seismic analysis as well as past eruptive episodes. As a minimum, there is not possible way that the magma chamber can be any less than 1500 KM2 since the volcano has put out more eruptive material than that in a single episode of eruption. However, these numbers are simply a hypothesis and are open to interpretation by scientists.
