Lung cancer affects the rate of respiration, because if the cancer grows in the airway, it may obstruct airflow, causing breathing difficulties. Emphysema affects the rate of respiration because there is less oxygen in the blood and it causes shortness of breath. hope that helps xx
Low oxygen and high carbon dioxide levels are often indicative of chronic bronchitis, but not always of emphysema
1. Emphysema 2. Chronic Bronchitis 3. Asthma 4. Chronic Heart Failure 5. Lung Cancer 6. Hypertension 7. Atherosclerosis 8. Kidney Cancer 9. Coronary thrombosis (heart attack) 10. Cerebral thrombosis (stroke)
Emphysema is a COPD, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease that has serious and permanent changes to the air sacs in our lungs, called alveoli. These tiny sacs collapse and loose their ability to transfer oxygen and carbon dioxide in the blood.
A chain smoker will likely develop emphysema and possible lung cancer.
The cancer from the blood can spread to other bodyparts for instance it spreads to the brain.
In advanced stages of Emphysema your red blood cells can be affected and it can cause them to have a high MCV blood result reading. Infections can also cause the red blood cells to rise as well.
Emphysema causes lower oxygen levels in the blood.
