How can I go by my middle name and get people to call me by it?

When you start a new grade, tell your teacher the name you go by. Over time, people in your classes will start calling you that. When you meet someone new, do the same thing. Eventually, the new name will take over--except your family will always call you by the old one since it is really really hard to remember the right name. My sister changed her name at age 35; still I want to use the old name when I'm recalling childhood memories.
