When Jesus said: "LEAD US not into temptation, He was asking the Father not to place Him in a situation where the TEMPTER can tempt him.
God Himself never tempts us, but we can be allowed to enter a situation where the Tempter (Satan) can tempt us. (He allowed that with Job if you will remember).
When Jesus was led into the dessert....He was PLACED in a situation where the Tempter can get a hold of him...and this is what we should ask NOT TO HAPPEN in the prayer.
Taking someone to a place where they can be tempted, (or placing them in a situation where temptation can become a problem) and tempting them yourself are two different things...
Hope that helps

Temptation itself is not a sin, as it is a part of human experience. It becomes a sin when one actively chooses to give in to the temptation and commit an act that goes against their beliefs or values. Resisting temptation can lead to personal growth and a stronger sense of self-discipline.
The New Testament does not give any information of the "wilderness" of Jesus' temptation.
Jesus' temptation took place in the wilderness, as mentioned in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. He fasted for 40 days and was tempted by the devil three times.
