How can Pokemon Gold or silver die out?

The game can die out if it comes in contact with water. Or from just having or playing it for like 10-11 years. The DS games don't do that. The GB games do.

The Pokemon in the game die at level 102. There's a cheat code that brings them to that level. Don't try it.
