im a tween but i know a bit about teen mental health because i know someone who went through a program a Mayo Clinic. Any way, a positive way would be when their peers offer postive encouragement. The teen will feel empowered and their mental health may improve. A negitive way would be when someone teases or bullies the teen. Yes, they are a teen but they cant handle everything. Their brian is growing and they may become depressed, get panic attacks, or have extreme anxity (like me). it is important to be postive tward mental health. positive self talk is a great way to help improve mental health. if the peers are nice, meantal health will be healthy and not negitive and dark. Peers have a lot to do with a teen's mental health. I can promise you that. like i said im only a tween, but i read about this a lot. good luck and i hope this helped. (:

Sometimes friends will do things we aren't comfortable with. When it's someone in your close group of friends, it can make you feel very conflicted. It's important to make sure you stay in control of what you do. For example it is quite hard when friends put pressure on you to do drugs or do other things, but it's absolutely okay to say no.

You make your own choices. It's not always easy to stick to your principles when someone is pressuring you to change. A good friend should respect your choices. It could be helpful to have a discussion with all your friends about the ill effects of doing drugs on one’s health and how addictive it is. It's good to be clear that you're not comfortable with it and being done around you.
