If there's a successful youth club in your local area take your current friends and go there with them to just chill out.Very quickly you will find yourself meeting a ton of new people, just get talking to folks. And then eventually you will get a mate there who knows EVERYONE. And then you'll just keep meeting tonnes of new new people and it will snowball from there. It's what I did, and it works pretty well, now I can barely go anywhere without someone seeing me :P
