Gender shouldn't be an impediment. "Greater is the assurance that God has given to women, more than that which He has given to men" (Talmud, Berakhot 17a). We, men and women, have to do our best and fulfill as much as we can. "God loves the righteous" (Psalms 146:8), has no gender attached; nor does "One who is pleasant to others, is pleasant in the eyes of God" (Mishna, Avos 3:10). The meaning of these quotes is that if we do our best to please God and to be pleasant, His love will result. If an elderly lady (for example) smiles at you because of some good deed or kind word on your part, you can be sure that God is happy with you at the same time.

God does not 'divide' His love based upon our gender or anything else for that matter - that is just another ploy to divide each of us by the god of this world - a liar from the beginning. Rather we are told this in 1 John 4:7 (NKJV), "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God."
