Depending on the PC network interface and operating systems this can be easy or difficult, but the basics are to use a Ethernet cable (e.g. CAT 5e) and plug the cable into the ports on the two computers.
Ensure the cable is a crossover cable. Pins 1,2,3,6 are to be reversed
1 -> 3 and 2 -> 6
Side a: W/O, O, W/G, BL, W/BL, G, W/B,B
Side b: W/G, G, W/O, BL, W/BL, O, W/B, B
W/O = white / orange
O = orange
W/G = white / green
BL = blue
W/BL = white /blue
g = green
W/B = white / brown
B = brown
Yes, by using a cross-over cable.
You have to include the two statements ...
when ethernet cable is plugged in it is detected by ethernet card. if the cable is connected to network it detects that network and dispalys " you are connected to network"
crossover cables must be used between 2 devices from the same level like (pc & pc - Pc & router - router & router) but strait through cable used between 2 different levels like (pc & switch - router & switch )
Traditionally, two switches can be connected together with a crossover cable. A crossover cable should be used whenever two of the same network devices need to be connected together. e.g. Connecting a router to another router, a switch to another switch or a PC to another PC. Using a crossover cable is not always necessary however. Most new network devices include a feature named Auto-MDIX (Medium Dependant Interface Crossover). Auto-MDIX detects what type of cable is connected and automatically changes its own configuration to enable data transmission to the other device. i.e. It does not matter if you use a straight through cable or crossover cable on Auto-MDIX enabled devices. Both will work.
If for instance you have a PC connected to the internet with an ethernet cable at a cable modem you can unplug the ethernet cable to the PC at the modem and Plug in a ethernet cable from the PS3 to the modem and a connection to the internet is possible. If the PC and PS3 are close enough you can just unplug the PC ethernet cable at the PC and move it over to the PS3. The first time you do this you need to go to the PS3 network setting and auto set the network settings. When you are done using the PlayStation 3 you just unplug the ethernet cable for the PS3 from the modem and plug the PC cable back into the modem for the PC to go back online or switch the cable back if it was close enough. When you get tired of doing this just purchase a router and plug the PS3 and PC into the router and plug the router into the modem.
If your computer connected to internet with a cable, yes, you can disconnect wireless.
Only one master is connected to single IDE cable
A hub or switch must be used to connect 3 PCs together. Two PCs can be connected using a single crossover cable.
No!
As long as the PC's were built within the past few years, then it is possible to use a straight through cable instead of a crossover cable. This is possible due to a feature named Auto-MDIX (Medium Dependant Interface Crossover). In the past, a crossover cable was required to connect two devices of the same type. e.g. a router to another router or a PC to another PC. A straight through cable was required to connect two devices of different types. e.g. a router to a PC. Auto-MDIX is a feature on the majority of new network devices. If you plug the wrong cable type into a Auto-MDIX enabled device, the device will reconfigure itself to allow connections to work properly.
There are a variety of ways for connecting a standalone PC to another PC that is connected to the internet depending on the capabilities of the two computers. Examples are Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
